I am horrible with this blogging!!!

I told myself this summer I was going to start blogging again. I made one posts and that was it. I totally forgot about it again. Ughh. The struggle of keeping a blog. I give so much kudos to all you bloggers cause it really does take alot of hard work and dedication.

But, I just turned 31 this past Sunday...Ahhh! Can't believe it. But, really it felt like a regular Sunday. With Covid there wasn't really that much to do. But, I told myself one of my goals for the 31st year was to continue with the blog. Here are 5 things I would like to accomplish as a 31 year old.

1. Continue with the blog. Even if its just a paragraph, I should write something.

2. Lose 10 pounds. With my lupus I gained so much weight when I was put on prednisone. I need to be more active and eat healthier.

3. Learn how to invest in stocks. I've always been so fascinated by it but, I have no idea where to start. I've been watching youtube videos but, it totally goes way over my head.

4. Read more. I feel like ever since I graduated college, I haven't read anything unless it was work related. I need to start reading more.

5. Save money for a downpayment on a house! This is such a biggie. NYC is not cheap. So, I need to really budget and save!!!

Let me know what are some of your goals and what you would like to accomplish for the remainder of the year. So crazy to think 2 more months and we can finally say GOODBYE to 2020!

After so many years!!!!

I was reminiscing the good old days when we got to go outside without a mask and I remembered this blog. So, I went online and checked it out.

It was funny reading some of the content back because I don't even remember half the stuff I wrote. The last post that I personally wrote was in 2016. But, it made me really nostalgic and made me want to blog to again. So, I'm going to restart the blog again. Maybe third times the charm!!! Unfortunately, its just going to be me writing this blog. I started this blog with my cousins initially, but we all def fell off the radar when it came to blogging. Real life sort of just took over.

A lot has def changed since the last time I blogged. I'm also going to have to relearn a lot of stuff cause I totally forgot all the coding that goes into building and customizing a website.

A few  MAJOR life updates

  • I just turned 30 on October 18, 2019! I can't believe I'm in my 30s and spent the majority of it inside my house because of COVID-19/Quarentine.
  • I was diagnosed with Lupus exactly 3 years ago this week. So, this was another reason I wasn't active. Def will be discussing this more in depth.
  • I started a new job, still in the health care field on the Upper East Side. Location will not be disclosed for security reasons.
  • I recently got engaged at the happiest place on earth, Disney World! More details on this on later posts as well!

Until next time...

XOXO,
Geri

Life Update

Long time no post.

Many things have changed (in  our lives and around world) since the last post.
I made some small "business" trips to Orlando for the Woman in Aviation Conference and the National Business Aviation Association Conference. I quit my job at Costco. Got a new job as an aircraft dispatcher (that lasted a month and left). Graduated college and now am currently waiting to start my career as an aircraft mechanic. My family and I had been kicked out of our previous apartment with little notice (because the landlords were assholes). I've lost some people along the way and and gained new ones. I've had emotional break downs and learned to not care of what others think.

Oh and Trump became President.

A lot has changed since the last post and it was all for the better (except for that last part).

Sprout Vox Box

Another gift from influenster came in the mail awhile ago. Apologies again for the late post. But, this time I want to share what I received in my Sprout Vox Box from Influenster. This box was definitely a box that I was glad to have received because I doubt I would have picked up any of these items on my own. This box contained a whole bunch of goodies that definitely caters to a better life style. So, in other words def a healthy box.

If you haven't heard about influenster, it's a site where you can read and post reviews on products you liked or disliked. You can fill out surveys and if chosen you get to try out some of the products they send you for FREE before they even hit stores. Click the link below to JOIN.

The first item that we tried were the EatSmart Three Bean Tortilla Chips ((made with pinto, navy, and black beans wit 14 grams of whole grain and is gluten free made with non-GMO ingredients which is great). My cousins were over so we devoured that bag in less than 10 minutes. Even though it was a new flavor, it tasted like something we had already tried but just couldn’t wrap our mind on what it was. It def is spicy so if you are not into that, I don't think you would like it. The chip alone was good, but we like chips with dip. So, we tried it salsa and then we tried it with McDonalds Sweet and Sour sauce. The sweet and sour sauce won that round. If you see it in store, def try it the sweet and sour sauce.

The second item in the box was from Hair Food Moisture Collection. I had never seen this brand so when I saw it I was really intrigued by it and the sample size was a decent size. I don't have such long hair so this lasted for 2 showers. This shampoo and conditioner is infused with honey and apricot fragrances. It’s silicone free, paraben free, and mineral oil free. This product was actually made in Thailand, I’m surprised it wasn’t China or USA. After just one use my hair is extremely super soft and smells wonderful. My hair smelled amazing!!! I use different kinds of shampoos and conditioners and this left my hair feeling really soft and silky. I def would purchase this.
With the healthy life style theme, the third product I decided to try was the Orgain Organic Protein Powder in Vanilla Bean (plant-based protein powder). I don't normally drink any protein drinks when I work out, just plain old H20. But because I had the sample, I decided to try it out. The taste was surprisingly good. Not, sure if I want to purchase this since I don't normally drink protein shakes to begin with. But, if you are someone that does, I say go out and buy it so you can judge for yourself.
The next item that we tried was the ECOS hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent. I've never heard of this brand either. If you like floral scents, you will def enjoy using this. It left my clothes feeling clean and refreshed. No one in my household has sensitive skin, so I don't know if I will purchase this. But, for those that do, this would be a great alternative.

The last item in my box was the Curate Bar: Dark and Tempting Flavor. I don't normally eat healthy stuff like this, so I passed this along to my mother. She's a big health nut so I thought this was gonna be perfect for her. She tried it and said it was just ok. Nothing too special. So, I don't think I will be purchasing this.

Overall the box was a good way to try new brands. As mentioned, I have never heard of these brands so I would have never tried to pick these up on my own. Great way to experience new things.

Disclosure : I received these products complimentary for testing purposes by influenster. All opinions are of my own.

Have you tried influenster yet? What are some of your favorite healthy products?

Apologies for being MIA...

OMG! Sorry we have been MIA. Real life just got in the way. Work, school, friends and family all took over and we had to put a halt on the blog. But, now that summer is right around the corner we are hoping to keep up with the blogs. Apologies again to everyone.

I can’t believe it’s already June. The year is almost half way done. It feels just like yesterday I was writing a post and commenting on other people’s blog about new year. Time is definitely flying by. I hope everyone has been doing well and with summer right around the corner, I hope you all have awesome summer plans coming up.

So, what have I been doing for the past few weeks…I don’t know if you all remembered, but one of my friends recently got married and I was her bridesmaids. So, that was a crazy few weeks, but the wedding turned out to be amazing. We also went to Cancun for her bachelorette party so that was really exciting and fun. I will def be making a travel series on Cancun but in the meantime below are a few pics from Cancun.
